About The Organizer
The Association for Perioperative Practice (AfPP) is the UK’s principal professional body and membership organisation for perioperative practitioners, including operating department practitioners (ODPs), theatre nurses, surgical assistants, and allied perioperative professionals. AfPP’s mission is to lead perioperative excellence and improve patient care and safety by promoting best practice, supporting professional development, and providing high-quality education and networking opportunities.
Founded in 1964, AfPP has a long history of supporting perioperative practice through standards, guidelines, events, and professional resources. It serves a broad membership across the UK, offering access to clinical education, professional advice services, CPD-accredited events, specialist interest groups, and a supportive professional community. Through regional conferences, national conferences, symposiums, and webinars, AfPP brings evidence-based learning and peer-to-peer connection to practitioners at every stage of their career.
